Spring?

Standard

Spring is here,

Or it seems to be.

With warmer temperatures

And budding trees.

It seems too early

For the lawns in green,

For the yellow jonquils,

And the honking geese.

Will we see snow

In the coming month?

Will Old Man Winter

Yank the rug from us?

My heart is thrilled

With the southerly breeze,

With the gentle rains

And the life it brings.

I can only hope

That Spring will stay.

That this time winter

Has gone away.

  1. What a great poem! Perfect for the feelings of this time of year. We are so anxious for spring to stay for good, and the thought of any more winter is awful! You expressed this beautifully.
